There is a crazy water heater in my basement that keeps going out. For a while we have the hot water we need and everything is fine, but then the flame dies down, the pilot light goes out and we have to light it manually. I bet you can see where I am going with this. After 25 years of pastoral ministry, I have come to accept the reality of needing to re-ignite my passion for serving Christ. I believe in the power of God's Spirit, I am devoted to doing ministry in a biblical, God honoring way. I am committed to contemporary forms without compromising the message...I UNDERSTAND ALL THE MAINS, BUT I STILL NEED MY FIRE TO BE LIT FROM TIME TO TIME.

Straight Up calls us to take our eyes off of US and to direct our hearts and minds back to Christ as the only source for true ministry effectiveness. We need Him first and foremost in all we do.
